A REAL GEM IN COURCHEVEL
Set against a steep hillside in the resort of Courchevel 1850, this chalet anchors its foundations in the mountain, while taking advantage of it.
Its architectural configuration bears witness to this, with its four levels below the first floor and its elevation in a forward position. The conceptual challenge for Atelier Giffon was to domesticate the six levels, which oscillate between light and dark areas, and the contrasting surface areas of 50m2 on the ground floor, 141m2 on the second floor and up to 330m2 on the first floor.
Each floor is dedicated to specific uses, naturally leveling the functions. The optimization of the technical parts has allowed the main rooms to evolve with generosity, such as the wellness and leisure area, the day areas and the master suite.
The bar pictured here is a natural space with a green ceiling. A suspended steam room with a net and a pontoon.
